Third World masterplanner
Article Abstract:
Jim Antoniou runs his own planning consultancy, specialising in Third World projects. Antoniou trained as an architect but moved into planning after working in Greece and for the Organisation of Economic Cooperation and Development. He believes British planners and architects should take advantage of the opportunities for working abroad. He sees work in developing countries as a partnership between the consultant and local people. Antoniou is chairman of the Association of Consultant Planners.

A gallery rooted in its context
Article Abstract:
The recently opened Tate Gallery in St Ives, England, was designed for Counwall Country Council by Evans and Shalev, Architects and Planning Consultants (London, UK). The gallery cost 1,979,679.53 pounds sterling and has a floor area of 1,728 sq mt. The gallery was built to exhibit works by the St Ives School of artists. Accounts by the main players in the gallery's construction and its users are also presented.
