Three new airports for France
Article Abstract:
France Transport Minister Jean-Claude Gayssot announced that the French government will build three new airports to solve increasing passenger and cargo traffic and environment problems. The airports will replace existing facilities at Nantes and Brive, and supplement Roissy-CDG and Orly airports in Paris, France. Building of three new airports became necessary when Roissy-CDG alone is expected to handle 55 million passengers as early as 2003, much earlier than previous prediction that such trafffic would occur in the year 2015.
