Towers of power
Article Abstract:
Three media towers are being planned or already under construction at the Eaton Centre in Toronto, Ontario, which is estimated to attract around 50 million visitors annually. The recently completed Atrium tower at Yonge and Dudas has more than 20,000 square feet of advertising space. A second tower at the southwest corner of Yonge and Dundas is slated for construction in fall 2001. A third tower 50 meters high and shaped like a torch will be built at the corner of Dundas and Victoria streets.

Foot joins advertising partnership
Article Abstract:
Insight 45+ is a newly formed advertising agency in Toronto, Ontario, that will focus on baby boomers and older baby boomers. Partners in the new agency include renowned economist David Foot, Publicis Canada president Serge Rancourt and Mindset Creative Planning president Dennis Bruce. Foot says the new firm will use demographic and economic research to formulate the appropriate marketing and advertising strategies for the 45-plus market.

TV for Toronto's subway-riding masses
Article Abstract:
Urban Outdoor Trans Ads has installed Subway Online four-color 14-by-57 inch digital video screens in Toronto's 10 busiest stations. The Subway Online units broadcast news, sports, weather and ad messages. Urban Outdoor, which has invested C$1 million-C$2 million to install the system, said it hopes to add another C$1 million to the estimated C$13 million in annual ad revenues from the Toronto subway system.
