Toyota raises half-year forecast, plans 10% global sales increase

Toyota Motor Corp. is forecasting a 32% ha lf-year profit increase, with an additional 10% in international sales forecast over the next two years. The company plans to hire 8,000 more engineers. Toyota is challenging the large Detroit auto makers like General Motors and Ford Motor Co. , who are struggling to cut costs and remain competitive.
