Article Abstract:
Photographer Alan Delaney is moving to Australia in 1998, but he leaves behind an affectionate and documentary photographic record of the city of London, England, by night. He enjoys walking the streets in the quiet of the middle of the night and photographing the sights he sees. He particularly appreciates the qualities bestowed on a structure by the fall of light. The city of New York, New York, also interests Delaney, and he plans to produce a book of nocturnal photographs of this city.

A passion for different ideas
Article Abstract:
The artist's work in a public domain is both a gift and a challenge, according to UK Public Art Development Trust (PADT) Director Sandra Percival. She is particularly interest in the process of realizing art works, along with the social or institutional change which this process can spark off. For this reason, she has focused on longer-term PADT commitments, rather than one-off projects. She feels that PADT's role is to find ways in which an artist's thinking can be presented in a place.
