Trimark brand may survive merger
Article Abstract:
AIM's acquisition of Trimark Financial Corp will not bring an end to the Trimark brand. AIM CEO Robert Hain said the company is thinking of several ways of preserving the Trimark name, including incorporating it into the company name or attaching it to individual product names. Trimark had spent $75 million on advertising and public relations during its lifetime. The deal will also help AIM improve its market share in Canada, which stands at 2.3% as of Mar 2000 while Trimark has 6%.
