Truth, lies and cyberspace
Article Abstract:
The web is a useful source of news, though users should be careful and check reports, since bogus reports may beplaced, with logos copied from reputable sources such as Bloomberg. Malicious gossip os more common than intentional fraud, and there is also a problem of lack of rigor in reporting, with poor accuracy levels and rapid dissemination. Chinese whispers can also be a source of false news reports, with accuracy being lost as stories are retold.
