Article Abstract:
The exhibition 'In Visible Light: Photography and Classification in Art, Science and the Everday' looks at the use of photography to classify and record. The exhibition is based on eight themes, including Mortality, The Culture of Nature and The Museum, Each section has a didactic introduction, but the viewer is still encouraged to question the view that the camera does not lie. Indeed, the exhibition demonstrates how the cultural background of its time has moulded photography.
