Turf love
Article Abstract:
There are obstacles to reform of the Glass-Steagal act of 1933, which involves a separation between insurance, investment banking and commercial banking. One obstacle would be the banning of data sharing, and a compromise may be achieved in this case. The Community Reinvestment Act could be eased so that this would present less of an obstacle. The Federal Reserve and Treasury are also involved in a turf war which could prove an obstacle to reform of financial regulation.
