Turtle wars
Article Abstract:
There is concern that free trade may lead to increased environmental and related health problems, and that the World Trade Organization (WTO) may hinder efforts to tackle the problem. WTO rules may undermine multilateral environmental agreements. WTO rules also argue that products should be treated similarly although some may have come to market in ways that damage the environment or run counter to human rights concerns. The removal of some subsidies such as those giving farmers minimum prices could both help trade and the environment.
