UK: AUTIF CALLS FOR FLEXIBLE SINGLE PRICING
Article Abstract:
The Association of Unit Trusts and Investment Funds (Autif) is proposing that, after mandatory single pricing is introduced, unit trusts' managers be allowed the flexibility to adjust prices to offset dealing costs in underlying investments. Although single pricing is just for Oeics, the Financial Services Authority (FSA) wants to extend it to include unit trusts. Autif, unhappy with the dilution levy imposed by Oeics managers, proposes to replace it with an option allowing managers to adjust the mid-market price for the cost of moving their funds. Members of Autif can respond to the paper until 27 April 2001, after which it will be forwarded to the FSA.

If Fidelity signs up, it has hinted that Cofunds' owners could appear on its own FundsNetwork supermarket as part of a reciprocal deal. Cofunds aims to increase its number of fund managers from 25 to 40 by the end of 2001, and FundsNetwork would similarly like to increase its investment houses from 32 to 50, to include Cofunds' owners.
