U.K. Internet shopping uses online credit card payment
Article Abstract:
Barclays Bank of the United Kingdom has launched the BarclaySquare online shopping service on the UK Internet which allows purchasers to use their credit cards to buy goods. Security is ensured as the credit card details are encrypted via a system developed by software firm Netscape of the United States. Eight leading British retailers use the BarclaySquare service, including catalogue retailer Argos and supermarket chain Sainsbury's. Retailers pay for the service rather than purchasers.
