Scottish and Newcastle PLC has reached a deal to acquire the pub, budget hotel, and restaurant units of Greenalls Group PLC. Scottish and Newcastle will pay 1.1 billion pounds (1.7 billion euros) for the units.

Think about it this way, 2/0,8 = 2,5. Since it is not possible to have 0,5 pdoructs in the developing phase you round up, hence, 3. Now, 3/0,2 = 15 hence, 15 pdoructs in the testing phase which gives you 15/0,1= 150 pdoructs in the R&D phase. Remember, by doing it the cumulative way you calc. the overall success rate for the product which doesn't give you the specific stage costs.
