U.K. rates may be near peak: central bank report hints at one more rise to combat inflation

A possibility of higher commodity prices and limited spare capacity have been identified by the Bank of England as inflation risks, and interest rates are expected to remain elevated before dropping sometime in mid-2009. If rates go up to 6%, consumer price inflation is predicted to hit 2% near the end of next year.
