The United States ambassador to Indonesia, Robert Gelbard, is receiving criticism from Indonesian officials and legislators. It is not the ambassador himself that is upsetting the Indonesian government, rather the policies of tackling corruption, strengthening human rights, and following up on agreements concerning West Timor, that he is advocating for the United States.
