Uganda coffee marketing board sale grinds on
Article Abstract:
Swiss concern Sucafina has made a bid of only $3.5 million for a 51% stake in Uganda's Coffee Marketing Board. For this reason, the sale has been delayed, and the government is now coming under pressure to reopen the bidding. The sale was originally planned to be completed by Sep 26, 1996. There are a number of other privatisation projects underway in Africa, including the sale by Kenya Tourism Development Corp of a 23.3% stake in Tourism Promotion Services.
