The price of gadgets has dropped, and navigation systems have become more common. The Automotive Multimedia Interface Consortium is to set software and hardware standards.

The modular T
Article Abstract:
The Brazilian car industry is characterized by a movement toward modular anufacturing methods. The market is protected by high tariff barriers, and there are 13 vehicle producers competing at a time when sales are dropping due to Brazilian economic problems. Chrysler uses extensive subcontracting which allows the company to cut costs and reduce risk levels. Ford is producing modules on site, and General Motors appears to be taking a similar approach.
