UniCredito agrees to acquire HVB

Unicredito Italiano S.p.A. of Italy is to acquire HVB Group AG of Germany for $18.81 billion as Europe's largest cross-border banking deal to date. Chief Executive Officer Alessandro Profumo of Unicredito Italiano S.p.A. said "I have always said that the integration of the European banking system would start once there was a catalyzing event. This is the catalyzing event".

Linde garners approval of FTC for its Acquisition of BOC Group

Linde AG of Germany acquistion of BOC Group PLC of the United Kingdom has been cleared by the United States Federal Trade Commission. The industrial gases industry acquisition is valued at $14.9 billion. Annual sales for the new company are expected to be approximately 11.9 billion Euros ($14.9 billion).
