Unicom considers minority stake sale to foreign operator

Fixed-line, mobile, and pager business operator China Unicom Ltd. might sell a minority stake to a foreign company so that it could acquire mobile networks in China in order to expand its services. Although formal negotiations have not begun, companies such as NTT DoCoMo Inc., AT&T Wireless Group, and Deutsche Telekom AG have expressed interest.
