Unigate faces tough choices as Terranova rallies on its bid
Article Abstract:
Unigate PLC has made a 125 pence ($203) per share offer to acquire Terranova Foods PLC. Stockholders in Unigate will be displeased if the company is forced to make a higher bid for Terranova. However, the shareholders will be even more displeased if the proposed deal collapses. In 1998, Unigate made an unsuccessful attempt to acquire Hillsdown Holdings PLC. Terranova is a small-cap food manufacturer.
