Updates and changes for swisscontrol
Article Abstract:
swisscontrol registered a total of 1,924,359 movements in 1999, including area control and tower approach, 5.9% higher than 1998 levels. Switzerland's air-traffic authority also moved its head offices to new premises in Geneva and relocated the Zurich Area Control Center to a new building. Its old buildings would be converted into a training school at a cost of SFr7 million. swisscontrol operates as a state agency even if it became independent in 1996 and can still impose tariff levels for its capital expenditures.
