Rise and demise of Concorde: a supersonic flight of fancy
Article Abstract:
Comments are made on the stately removal of the glorified aircraft Concorde from service after a couple of major tragedies. The rise and fall of Concorde is compared to the similar fate of certain civil structures, underlining the fact that these magnificent and imaginative inventions are not foolproof, and provide scope for further improvement.
