Marines get their hands on a V-22
Article Abstract:
The US Marine Corps (USMC) formally marked the acceptance of the first of 360 MV-22 Ospreys during ceremonies attended by Bell and Boeing officials in Texas in May 1999. The delivery of the first 12 Ospreys to New River, NC, will be on May 24, 1999, following the final work on the aircraft, prior to the signing of 'Form DD250.' The Ospreys will be used as a USMC squadron to train cadres of flight crews, who will then train other crews as production rises in the coming years.

Black Hawk evolves
Article Abstract:
Sikorski has created a dual-stage upgrading plan for the fleet of UH-60A/L Black Hawk helicopters of the United States Army. The plan will also add 25 years to 30 years to the helicopters' operating life. To satisfy the Army's evolving needs, the firm has also created the UH-60L+ and UH-60X derivative configurations. The derivative Black Hawk configurations will be equipped with features such as an avionics suite and a digitized 1553 bus-based cockpit.
