Article Abstract:

Finnish Helsinki Media and TS Group will join their printing operations by founding a new jointly owned company, Hansaprint. Additionally, the companies have signed a letter of intent on transferring printing of Turun Sanomat to Sanoma's Forssa printing press in ten years. TS Group owns 60% of the new Hansaprint and Helsinki Media 40%. The estimated turnover of Hansaprint is approx. Fmk 700mn (US$ 127mn) in 1999, with over 600 employees. The company's main products are magazines, telephone directories, direct marketing material and technical instruction manuals. Hansaprint will spend Fmk 200mn on their investment programme by the end of 1999; i.a. a second rotation with finishing treatment has been ordered to the Turku printing press.

Article Abstract:

Finnair is not planning to withdraw the cooperation with the American Delta even if British Airways (BA) and American Airlines (AA) alliance has been realized. Finnair has previously said that it has to reconsider the cooperation agreement with Delta if the BA and AA alliance project will proceed. The alliance will not affect Finnair directly but the situation may change in the future.
