Vini nobili
Article Abstract:
Sweet wines have a long history in Europe, and they are stabilized in a variety of ways. Sometimes grapes are left to dry. Alcohol may also be added to grape juice, producing strong wines. Sherry sales in the United Kingdom have been affected by associations with old unmarried women, while port sales have benefit from the introduction of new mid-range types of port, between its aristocratic and working class associations. There has been a trend toward lighter wines, but port is an example of a wine that has gone against this trend.
