HMV reports strong holiday sales: 'social hub' outlets, small-ticket offerings benefit British retailer

Overall holiday sales for HMV Group PLC rose 9.9%, with sales in the UK and Ireland rising by 16%. Stores open a minimum of one year reported a 9.4% increase in sales. The UK books, games, DVDs, and music retailer expects pretax profits to exceed analyst expectations, approximately 43 mil to 53 mil pounds sterling.
