Volkswagen's sales slide in China

Volkswagen AG of Germany has posted good first quarter results, net profit increased to $70 million Euro ($91 million) from $26 million Euro a year earlier but overall revenue fell 2.4 percent to $21.1 billion. Sales are down in the home market of Germany, also in China and old designs are stagnating the North American market. The end of year financial target is forecast as being difficult to meet.

Volkswagen profit surges, but job cuts loom
