Article Abstract:
Europe has achieved leadership in the mobile communications market, where European companies predominate, and ownership of mobile phones is at higher levels than in the US. Mobile phones are versatile, and appeal to new customers like teenagers. There are major questions as to how mobile phones are to develop with the Internet, and new charging systems will have to be used since mobile phone users will not wish to be encumbered by advertising. Europe also needs more enterpreneurs, and should foster the development of young entrepreneurs.

The expansion of mobile telephony in Europe has attracted telecoms companies which are investing large amounts in license for mobile data services. There are some doubts as to whether their investments will bring the returns they seek.
