Wasn't that worth waiting for?
Article Abstract:
Ehud Barak has succeeded in setting up a coalition government in Israel and the process has taken six weeks. The National Religious Party has agreed that Barak should decide on building to be undertaken in settlements in the West Bank, while Shas has agreed that its chairman should retire. United Torah Judaism has agreed to new rules on conscription. Previously, Talmudic students were exempt from conscription, so many studied until middle age, supported by public funds. They will be permitted exemption from the age of 24-years-old, though Othordox army units will be used for younger people who are not studying.
