What colour is your capitalism?
Article Abstract:
A professor of management studies has suggested that there are five different types of capitalism. These are: North American capitalism which focuses on shareholders; West European capitalism; Japanese capitalism which aims for full employment; Korean capitalism which is determined by government policies; and Chinese capitalism which is family-based. Business people need to be able to identify these different forms, decide if they are willing to work with them, they should be aware of a competitor's perspective and also consider if the type of capitalism is likely to change.

Survival of the fastest
Article Abstract:
The world economy is now based on information, rather than on physical matter, and this means that change can take place extremely quickly. There are many companies which are not adapting rapidly enough to change. This is particularly the case in the US, where large companies have failed to realise that the global economy is now extremely competitive. Companies which fail to adapt to new market conditions will find it very hard to survive.
