Where's the exit?
Article Abstract:
The business climate in the Manchester, England, area is currently rather uncertain. This does not mean that those wishing to sell their business should delay their plans, but shareholders must acknowledge that the prices being paid for businesses in late 1997 and 1998 were unrealistic. Furthermore, the sales process must be based on business fundamentals, with care being taken to closely analyze the dynamics of the relevant business and the market in which it is active. It is vital to find the most appropriate purchaser, as this will ensure that the vendors receive a premium value.

Making sense of new media valuations
Article Abstract:
It has proved very difficult to reliably value Internet and new media companies. This is because it is impossible to predict how the Internet and new media revolution will develop. It is now becoming widely recognized that successful Internet or new media companies must be at, or close to, the electronic commerce 'moment' on the Internet. They must have a Unique Selling Proposition, and must be aggregators of content intended for a core, specific audience and distributed on as many platforms as possible.
