Winning Kosovo's peace
Article Abstract:
Kosovo faces problems in developing a tolerant society after the intervention by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in 1999. Ethnic relations between Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo have long been difficult, and Serbian leader, Slobodan Milosevic, is seeking to create problems in Kosovo. There are religious, political and ethnic differences between Kosovo and Serbia, and there is a case for independence. This could lead to problems for remaining Serbs in Kosovo. There is also a need for peacekeeping forces to invest more in the police and justice system, and for more soldiers in Kosovo. NATO has taken responsibility for Kosovo and needs to ensure the peace is successful.

Peace, for now, in Kosovo
Article Abstract:
Serbian commanders have agreed to withdraw troops from Kosovo, Yugoslavia, but there are more negotiations before peace can be achieved. Russia and the US have to agree on a peacekeeping force in Kosovo. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) stated that it would not cease bombing until a clear Serbian withdrawal was evident. Russia wishes to send 10,000 troops to Kosovo, while the US is more prepared to humor Russia once it is evident that Serbian forces are withdrawing.
