Yearly check up
Article Abstract:
The United Kingdom government has reduced hospital waiting lists, though not by as much as promised, and waiting times are still a problem. There has also been a rise in numbers of people waiting for an appointment with a hospital specialist. The government has brought in new initiatives such as a call service where nurses can offer advice, and the National Institute for Clinical Excellence, which is a sound investment. Other changes are not as important as the government represents them, and there is still a division between providers and purchasers of health care.
