After the chainsaw
Article Abstract:
Extensive downsizing has robbed many companies of the entrepreneurial spirit required for growth. Most managers believe that a company cannot be revived once it begins to show signs of having gone beyond its initial stages of strong growth. However, it can be argued that it is possible to revive entrepreneurialism in older companies. This has been seen at oilfield services concern Schlumberger, which is committed to nurturing future entrepreneurs. There is evidence that a simple target can be put into practice with extremely impressive results.
