short-selling to be curbed
Article Abstract:
The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong (SEHK) is considering to set up restrictions on short-selling of Hong Kong's shares. There are several options including totally ban on short-selling share activities in a down market, to limit the percentage on shares selling out on an individual issue. Previously, the Hong Kong Futures Exchange had launched new rules on trading HSI futures such as 1) A 150% margin rate for holding more than 100,000 futures positions by Hong Kong Future Exchange members 2) Tightening reporting requirements for the open futures positions to 250 contracts from previous of 500. *
