Alastair Dunn of Highway Vehicle Leasing
Article Abstract:
Highway Vehicle Leasing's Chmn Alastair Dunn reports that a national operation in Great Britain increasingly requires visibility in the southern part of the country. Highway Vehicle Leasing began in 1975 with a small operation in Glasgow, but today it runs a fleet of 11,000 vehicles from offices in Windsor and Stirling, and its growth in earnings has been at about 25% for many years. Dunn reports that the customer's advantage in choosing a contract company for fleet management is that purchasing, maintenance, and repair responsibilities are minimized, and costs are kept within agreed-upon limits.

Dublin: Europe's new financial centre
Article Abstract:
The International Financial Center located in Dublin, Ireland is scheduled to be completed by June 1989. The center is expected to generate 7,500 new jobs by 1993, and it hopes to entice financial service industry companies to come to Dublin to enjoy a 10% tax rate instead of the usual 50% rate, although this benefit expires in 2000. The aims of the Financial Center are high, but a major international firm from, possibly, Japan is needed for the Center, and Ireland as a whole, to gain credibility as a place with a firm financial sector.
