A case for managing money GDP
Article Abstract:
Money gross domestic product (GDP) is inflation and growth of output for the economy as a whole. The UK Institute for Public Policy and Research (IPPR) that money GDP should be managed within a target range. This would not bring major changes since the proposed range is similar to the actual range of money GDP from 1993 to 1995. The IPPR also calls for low rates of interest and tight fiscal policy, a combination which the UK government is already pursuing. The IPPR also calls for modest policy initiatives and this maybe a wise recommendation following problems which appear to have been created by macroeconomic policy.

Sterling: support factors
Article Abstract:
Pound sterling is buoyed up by a number of factors, according to Goldman Sachs. Tight fiscal policy and looser monetary policy tends to lead to a drop in the value of a currency, but most economies in the Group of 7 are using a similar policy mix. The UK visible balance of trade has not performed well, but this situation is likely to improve. The UK Labor Party is not likely to attempt a major change in macroeconomic policy so a political risk premium is not likely to develop.
