A matter of trusts
Article Abstract:
British unit trusts and investment trusts are both collective investment methods giving access to a wide range of companies, though there are also important differences. The units from unit trusts are sold by fund managers, whereas investment trusts are public companies, and stocks are sold independently from fund managers. Green fingers
Article Abstract:
Private investors have become increasingly interested in ethical investments, and companies can find their stock price, brand reputation and profitability affected by their stance on social and environmental issues. Positive criteria can be used to identify companies that perform well in terms of pollution control and other issues. Thematic investment is another approach, and aims to identify companies that seek to improve the world such as those involved in training or renewable energy.
