Heal's bets on new sites
Article Abstract:
Heal's has three stores, two in London and one in Guildford, England, which saw an increase in sales of 25% in 1996 to 1997. Imported goods account for 40% of sales, and a strong pound sterling has thus helped the company. Operating margins have improved and shrinkage has been reduced. The company plans to expand. There is concern that increases in interest rates could affect Heal's but the company focuses on affluent consumers and should benefit from expansion in appropriate locations.
