Article Abstract:
Alliant Defense Electronic Systems Inc., Clearwater, Fla., is being awarded a $395,742 increment as part of a cumulative not-to-exceed total of $37,023,027 cost-plus-award-fee contract for design, development, fabrication and testing of the tank extended range munition (TERM). The objective is to develop a smart 120mm munition for the Abrams Tank. Work will be performed in Clearwater, Fla., phase I (83.9%), phase II (62.89%.), and Rocket City, W. Va., phase I (16.1%), and phase II (37.11%), and is expected to be completed by June 30, 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This was a broad agency announcement in the Commerce Business Daily on January 20, 1998, and three bids received. The contracting agency is the U.S. Army Tank Automotive and Armaments Command, Picatinny Arsenal, N.J. (DAAE30-98-C-1074).

Royal Ordnance North America Inc., Arlington, Va., is being awarded a firm-fixed-price contract (appropriation number and dollar value will be issued with each delivery order), with a cumulative total of $75,000,000, for the operation and maintenance of a government owned/contractor operated facility. Work will be performed at the Holston Army Ammunition Plant, Kingsport, Tenn., and is expected to be completed by Jan. 1, 2023. There were three bids solicited on April 1, 1998, and three bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Armament, Munitions & Chemical Command, Rock Island, Ill. (DAAA09-98-E-0006).
