Baldwins: craning forward
Article Abstract:
Baldwins is a UK crane hire concern which plans a flotation in Feb 1996. The company saw a drop in pre-tax profit to 227,000 pounds sterling for 1992 to 1993 due to recession in the UK construction industry, but has since expanded. Baldwins operating profit is forecast at 3.8 million pounds for 1995 to 1996, with a pre-tax profit of some 2 million pounds for this year. The company has invested in equipment during the recession and this has left Baldwins with debts. The flotation will help reduce debt levels and allow the company to buy new cranes.
