Bank of England officials accused of 'misleading' BCCI inquiry
Article Abstract:
Three Bank of England's senior officials were accused of lying to Lord Bingham at the time of his inquiry in 1992 into the collapsed bank BCCI. These allegations were made in the High Court by BCCI creditors, under the guidance of the Middle Eastern bank's liquidators Deloitte, which had made legal history by being the first organization to sue the Bank of England.

Whitehall stalls on audit liability
Article Abstract:
The campaign for limitation of auditor liability was held up as the government departments especially the Treasury was not convinced regarding its implementation. The accountancy profession is however struggling hard in Whitehall for early adoption of measures to limit any future liability.
