Tegno-Beeld's spinoff from the Beeld newspaper resulted from its success as a supplement covering technological development, products and services. Previously published on the back pages of Beeld, Tegno-Beeld received enthusiastic response from readers as well as advertisers, some of which committed to long-term contracts. The success of the South African magazine prompted its publishers to publish it twice a month beginning Apr 1999.
