Freeserve carried out a stock flotation in Jul 1999 and the stocks rose until fall 1999, when bulletin boards became less enthusiastic about Freeserve stocks. There has been a new rise in Freeserve stocks in early 2000, helped by positive comments from bulletin boards. The company's stock price rose after news of possible plans to acquire Dorling Kindersley, which would supply content for Freeserve. Freeserve has become more valuable than Dixons, its parent company. as a result of the stock price rise.
