Boeing, after earlier win, readies for new JTRS contest

The Boeing Co. and its team of contractors would be bidding for the further work on the Airborne, Maritime/Fixed Station Joint Tactical Radio System (AMF/JTRS), as they have already won the first round in the design and development phase of the program. The acquisition program consists of a pre-system design and development (SDD) phase, a low rate initial production (LRIP) phase involving manufacture of up to 10 percent of the entire hardware and a full rate production (FRP) phase.

Boeing compares its tanker to Airbus competition
Article Abstract:
The Boeing Co., which has signed a Pentagon contract to supply 100 KC-767 tanker aircraft to the US Air Force, has argued that its aerial refueling tanker aircraft is better than a competing tanker from Airbus. Boeing also feels that its tanker could be upgraded later with items such as improved satellite communications, global positioning systems and autonomous refueling.

Boeing receives JTRS radio for FCS
Article Abstract:
The Boeing Company has received the first delivery of Joint Tactical Radio System Cluster 1 (JTRS 1) radios produced for the Army's Future Combat System (FCS) program. The JTRS radios are in the software integration phase and will be delivered to the FCS program at the end of January 2006.
