Bolton blames program failure on unneeded requirements

Claude Bolton stated at the annual meeting of the Army Aviation Association of America that a lack of clear understanding of program requirements led him to terminate the Lockheed Martin Corp. contract to develop the Aerial Common Sensor (ACS). Bolton, the Army assistant secretary of Army for acquisition, logistics and technology revealed that the Army, in collaboration with the Navy and Air Fore would report back to Kenneth Krieg, the Pentagon procurement official on how to continue ACS.

Lockheed wins $45.6 million army missile order
Article Abstract:
Lockheed Martin Corp. received $45.6 million from the Army Aviation & Missile Command for Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) Quick Reaction Unitary missiles in 2006. The ATACMS Block 1A Quick Reaction Unitary (QRU) Missile was combat proven in joint operations in Iraq, and is the latest addition to the current ATACMS family of munitions.
