Bombing aftermath
Article Abstract:
The Apr. 19, 1995, bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, OK, has prompted legislators to hasten the implementation of the Bombing Prevention Act and to regulate materials that can be used to make explosives. Legislators stress the need to regulate the commercial fertilizer and chemicals market to enhance the monitoring of persons that purchase such materials. Observers, however, doubt that the Congress and Senate will effectively control the movement of products and note that new regulations will adversely affect the chemicals and mining industries.
