Brunswick 'Zone' offers prototype for 21st century bowling alley

Brunswick Corp has begun a branding initiative for bowling alleys by testing the so-called bowling zones at three bowling centers around Chicago, IL. The prototype facilities comprise interactive video games, big-screen televisions and food kiosks that appeal to a younger market. The Lake Forest, IL-based firm is repositioning the traditional bowling alley to appeal to all members of the family, while offering a brighter, lighter and more cordial environment, according to Warren Flanigan, Vice President of Operations at Brunswick Recreation Center.

Staples to open airport stores

Staples Inc is launching its first airport store which will open at the Philadelphia International Airport. The new concept will provide consumers with much needed supplies and services even while travelling. It also offers three sales channels that include a direct phone line to Staples catalog representatives, a kiosk linked to Staples.com and traditional retail. Home Depot debuts villager's hardware

Villager's Hardware has launched its first store in East Brunswick, NJ. The firm is the newest line of neighborhood hardware stores debuting from The Home Depot. Its 40,000-sq ft store has six resource centers that sell around 37,000 items that would be useful for small home repair and decoration projects.
