Helping Canadians who are taxed to the max
Article Abstract:
Canadian Liberal Parliamentarian Alex Shepherd has introduced a taxpayer's bill of rights in response to growing taxpayer disenchantment over their country's tax system. Presented to the House of Commons in June 1995, the private member's bill aims to protect the income and assets of taxpayers in the same manner that government salaries and pension benefits are protected by the law. Shepherd believes this would be of assistance to people who feel they no longer have control of the tax system.
