Article Abstract:
Financial advisers face stricter regulations in relation to disclosure of the costs of products they sell. Investors need to select their financial advisers with care. They can choose between tied advisers and independent advisers. Tied salemen may be self-employed but are only allowed to recommend the products of a particular company. Investors can pay a fee to inependent advisers regardles of whether they buy products, and this can reduce eventual commission charges if they do buy products.
